LUCAS COUNTY HEALTH STATISTICS- ONLINE RESOURCE DIRECTORY

"While I was serving as a nurse in the emergency room, a woman came in with an open wound on her breast- the cancer had broken through her skin. Her daughter forced her to come to the hospital. The woman said she never came in before because she was embarrassed and didn't have any money. She also knew someone who had the same condition...There was a failure of the health care system, a lack of knowledge, and a lack of trust..."- Toledo-Lucas County Commission on Minority Health Committee Member
